Linux Systems Engineer (DevOps)

On-Site (Frimley, Surrey)

£50-70,000 + 10% Bonus

We are currently partnered with Europe’s leading Aerospace & Defence organisation to search for a Linux Systems Engineer to join their Frimley operation on a permanent basis, working on-site in a DevOps environment.

The organisation work with government agencies to develop and supply products and services that span future technologies, land, sea, air, cyber security & intelligence, and electronics. You will play a key role in working as part of a larger programme to provide mission critical environments on board submarines.

What you’ll be doing:

• Working in an Agile team using SCRUM and KANBAN. You will be running, maintaining and developing a private cloud (VMWare) environment used by their in-house development team
• Design documentation in preparation for upcoming implementations and projects
• Constantly contributing to the development and expansion of the technical environment

Required Skills:

• Linux (Redhat or CentOS)
• CI/CD
• IaC: Ansible or Packer
• Scripting: Bash or Python
• Developing, testing and deploying IT solutions

Desirable:

• Kubernetes
• Working in air gapped/secure defence environments
• Any networking skills such as software-defined networking (SDN)
