Position Overview:

The Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of SCIS Group. This position requires a detail-oriented, operational leader with strong financial acumen and commercial understanding. The Financial Controller will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls across the group. There is a clear progression opportunity to fulfil the role of Group Financial Controller, in the future, for the right candidate.

Financial Reporting:

Prepare and analyse financial statements, including the consolidated accounts. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. Maintain and enhance financial reporting systems including the current Finance software.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Develop and manage the company’s budget by providing regular financial forecasts and projections to support decision-making. Identify opportunities for cost control and efficiency improvements.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws. Oversee financial audits and liaise with external auditors across the business units. Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Financial Analysis:

Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential risks or opportunities. Offer strategic & operational insights and recommendations to senior management. Perform financial modelling and scenario analysis. Review margin and the cost base to inform the business on the optimum product mix.

Cash Management:

Manage the twelve-week cash flow to meet operational needs and optimise capital utilisation. Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions. Maintain the excellent banking relationship and reporting requirements.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and mentor the finance team at the parent company, with a view to overseeing the subsidiary in time. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement, including the hiring of new appointments where required. Ensure the efficient execution of financial tasks and projects.

Financial Strategy & Operations:

Support the CFO and senior management to formulate financial strategies and objectives. Participate in strategic planning and goal setting. Business Partner with the SMT & operational heads to support growth whilst instilling strong internal controls.

We are looking for:

Qualified Accountant with a current membership to (CIMA/ ACCA/ACA)

Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., ERP systems, Microsoft Excel/ Office)

Effective leadership and communication abilities to both Finance & Non-Finance staff.

A collaborative and approachable team player who can work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organisation.

Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to work commercially.
