Mentoring, Training and Volunteer Co-ordinator

Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week

Salary: up to £26,514 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Nottingham City, Wellbeing Hub, Hounds Gate

We are looking for a talented individual to join our Academy team based in the City of Nottingham delivering and facilitating accredited and non-accredited training to adults to support them to achieve abstinence from substance misuse.

Our Academy provides a unique progression pathway where clients (known as students) are offered, through a personal plan, a range of accredited level 1 and level 2 progression qualifications as well as a number of non-accredited sessions and recovery support groups. We also provide opportunities for people to get involved in mutual aid activities and signpost and connect people to opportunities and activities taking place in their local communities.

The role will be expected to plan, teach and evaluate a variety of groups and learning programmes, delivering quality learning opportunities to our students as well as managing a caseload. The role will also involve connecting students to a comprehensive range of community ‘assets’ including volunteering and work experience to provide opportunities for them outside of the criminal justice system.

We are looking for people who can be champions of Recovery and be proactive in supporting the growth and profile of our Academy in Nottingham.

Candidates will have a good general level of education which will ideally include Teacher/Training/Assessing experience and/or qualification such as an adult education qualification e.g., Award in Education and Training, Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent, or willing to work towards, as well as the ability to monitor and manage individual client progress. Experience of working in the criminal justice system or in the substance misuse field or knowledge of these fields, would be desirable.
