Senior IT Project Manager

We are partnered with one of the top preforming UK hedge funds of 2022! The role is a key part of the IT Change team, responsible for initiating, overseeing and delivering IT change projects. The book of work includes strategic initiatives aimed at delivering global enterprise solutions, infrastructure and technology across all business lines and functions.

The team is looking for a capable and hands-on project manager to drive projects in the change portfolio and oversee a number of key initiatives in the IT team. The role holder will be responsible for identifying solutions and driving delivery to completion, across a number of concurrent initiatives. The role holder will work closely with key internal partners, support and control functions, as well as external suppliers and providers.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of IT Change to shape & deliver technology initiatives focused on process, infrastructure and technology

• Develop plans and deliver IT Projects and change initiatives according the agreed plan, budget and quality criteria

• Effectively manage risk and issues by providing MI inputs and running risk forums

• Identify requirements, define solutions, drive delivery and track to completion

• Collaborate with key stakeholders from the IT, support and control functions

• Work closely with external partners including service/application providers

• Lead the development of solutions in an agile fashion, demonstrating and iterating progress in real-time

• Work across business functions in order to achieve a consensus on resourcing and manage dependencies

Criteria

• Experienced matrix managing IT teams

• Excellent Risk and dependency management

• Strong knowledge of MS Office

• Excellent planning skills

• Excellent leadership skills

• Previous experience on the buy-side

• Hands-on approach

• Experience in leading technology projects, facing off to IT teams and communicating with the business side

• Self-motivated with bias for action

• Experience with Technology (infrastructure, Cloud, Data centre, Data, and Application) deliveries

• Enthusiastic, flexible and adaptable

• Ability to work effectively and independently as well as part of a team

• Excellent interpersonal / communication skills

• Experience working in an agile fashion
